System Design

Every property is different. A cookie-cutter camera layout leaves gaps — entry points uncovered, parking zones with blind spots, or indoor areas that aren't monitored at the right angle. Our system design service solves that before a single camera is ordered.

We map your property, identify risk zones, and produce a camera layout with exact placement, field-of-view coverage, equipment specifications, and a complete network plan. You get a system built for your property, not the one nearest to it.

Property walkthrough and risk assessment
Coverage zone mapping
Camera count and placement recommendations
Equipment specification and selection
Network and bandwidth planning
NVR/DVR sizing and storage calculation

Live Monitoring

Recording footage is not the same as watching it. Remote monitoring means trained operators and AI tools are reviewing your live camera feeds in real time — not hours after an incident has already happened and evidence has walked away.

Our monitoring service is built for properties that can't afford gaps in coverage. We watch, we respond, and we document. Every alert is reviewed, every incident is timestamped, and our team coordinates directly with law enforcement when needed.

24/7 live camera feed monitoring
AI-powered motion and anomaly detection
Instant alert notifications via text and email
Timestamped incident reports with video
Law enforcement coordination
Mobile app access for property owners
Encrypted cloud backup of footage
Weekend and holiday coverage included

Maintenance

Security systems degrade quietly. Lenses fog, connections corrode, storage fills up, and firmware falls behind — until the day you need footage and it isn't there. Our maintenance service prevents that from happening.

We offer scheduled maintenance contracts that include proactive inspections, cleaning, firmware updates, and health checks on every component of your system. If something is going to fail, we find it first.

Scheduled on-site inspection visits
Camera lens and housing cleaning
Firmware and software updates
Recording and storage health verification
Cable, connector, and PoE switch checks
Camera alignment and angle correction
NVR/DVR performance audit
Priority response for contract clients
Maintenance Checklist
Every scheduled visit includes
Visual inspection of all cameras and mounts
Test recording playback for every camera
Hard drive health check and storage audit
Firmware update if version is outdated
Network connectivity test for remote access
Written report with findings and next steps

System Upgrade

Older systems don't have to be completely replaced. We assess your existing infrastructure and upgrade the components that matter most — cameras, recorders, networking, and storage — while keeping what still works. You get modern performance without starting from scratch.

Whether you need higher resolution cameras, AI-powered analytics, expanded coverage, or cloud backup added to an existing setup, we design an upgrade path that fits your timeline and budget.

Assessment of existing equipment
Camera resolution and sensor upgrades
NVR/DVR replacement and migration
Adding AI analytics to existing feeds
Storage expansion and cloud integration
Network infrastructure upgrades
Coverage expansion with new cameras
Mobile and remote access enablement
Common Upgrade Paths
What we upgrade most often
Analog → IP camera system migration
SD to 4K / 4MP resolution upgrade
DVR replacement with cloud-ready NVR
Adding license plate recognition (LPR)
Integrating access control with cameras
Adding cloud backup to local-only systems

System Configuration

A camera system is only as good as how it's set up. Poor motion detection zones, wrong recording schedules, weak passwords, and misconfigured alerts are all common problems that leave systems underperforming — or completely exposed.

We handle complete system configuration to ensure seamless performance and security. Whether it's a new installation, a third-party system, or an existing setup that's never been properly configured, we make it work the way it's supposed to.

Recording schedule and mode configuration
Motion detection zone setup and tuning
Alert threshold and notification setup
Network and remote access configuration
User account and permission management
Mobile app setup for all users
Storage retention and overwrite settings
Security hardening and password audit
Configuration Covers
Every setting that affects performance
Continuous, scheduled, and motion-triggered recording
Per-camera sensitivity and exclusion zones
Push notifications, email alerts, and SMS
VPN and secure remote access setup
Multi-user access with role permissions
30/60/90-day retention configuration

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a typical installation take?
Most small commercial installations (4–16 cameras) are completed in a single day. Larger properties with 32+ cameras or complex cable runs may take two to three days. We give you a time estimate during the design phase before any work begins.
Do you work with systems we didn't install?
Yes. We service, configure, maintain, and upgrade third-party systems from most major manufacturers. If you have an existing setup that isn't performing well, we can assess it and recommend the most cost-effective path forward.
What areas do you serve?
SecureLens primarily serves commercial, residential, and institutional properties across Southern California. Contact us with your location and we'll confirm service availability for your area.
How long is footage stored?
Retention depends on the number of cameras, resolution, and recording schedule. Most systems we configure retain between 30 and 90 days of footage locally. Cloud backup can extend this further. We size your storage to meet your retention requirement during the design phase.
Can I view my cameras remotely on my phone?
Yes — every system we install or configure includes mobile app setup for live viewing, playback, and alert management on iOS and Android. We set this up for all authorized users before we leave the site.
What's the difference between monitoring and just recording?
Recording captures footage passively — you review it after an incident. Remote monitoring means trained operators and AI tools are actively watching your feeds in real time and responding to events as they happen. It's the difference between a security record and a security response.
Do you offer maintenance contracts?
Yes. We offer scheduled maintenance contracts with quarterly, semi-annual, and annual visit options. Contract clients receive priority scheduling, discounted repair rates, and a written report after each visit. Contact us to discuss what schedule fits your property.
How do I get started?
Request a free estimation using the contact form or email us at info@securelens.net. Tell us your property type, approximate camera count, and what you're trying to solve. We'll respond within one business day and schedule a site walkthrough at your convenience.
